- Cotyledons elliptic to ovate, rounded tip, more or less stalked.
- First leaf rounded, short acute apex, the later 3-foliolate.
- Height: 2-40 cm.
- Stem: angular, decumbent or ascending.
- Leaves : with leaflets denticulate in the upper part, and a hairy blade. Stipules acute shortly toothed at the base.
- Flowers : yellow in dense racemes lengthening at fruiting. Standard longer than the wings and the keel.
- Fruit 5 mm in diameter, convex, coiled in almost one complete turn. Sides with prominent and recurved veins. Indehiscent, 1-seeded.
- Plant cultivated, well-known source of honey.
