-Cotyledons ovate, cordate at base, sometimes restricted, glabrous and triveinate. Leaves entire, rounded, margin crenulate -serrate.
-Height : 20-50 cm.
-Stem glabrous or pubescent, ascending.
-Leaves softly hairy, rounded, cordate at base, crenate, frequently with 5-7 triangular lobes.
-Flowers pale blue-lilac, grouped 2-4 within axis of leaves. Petals (4-6 mm), pedicel generally less than 1 cm at maturity. sepals orbicular -triangular, greatly stretched after flowering, isolated and membranous, dry after fruitification. Bracteoles linear, lanceolate, free.
-Fruit disc shaped when ripe, contained in mericarps ; carpels glabrous, greatly wrinkled on dorsal face with very small wings.
