- Cotyledons cordate at the base.
- Leaves entire, rounded, with distant teeth.
- Height: 30-50 cm.
- Stem: woody in the lower part, branched, hairy, decumbent or ascending.
- Leaves palmately divided, long-stalked, roundish or reniform in outline, basal with 3-7 irregularly notched lobes, very variable in form.
- Flowers rose purple 2-6 axillary. Petals deeply emarginate, with erect hairs at the base and dark stripes.
- Fruit in disk, 9-11 embossed carpels, reticulate on the back, glabrous or slightly hairy.
- Plant used as infusion is counter-irritant, mucilagineous and slightly laxative.
