Adult plant:

- Height: 20-50 cm. Plant glabrescent, slender.

- Leaves with 3-5 pairs of leaflets with a terminal tendril usually simple or bifid.

- Flowers mauve, purple-striped, slender, solitary or 2-5 gathered; calyx with very narrow teeth longer than the tube. Flowering peduncles slightly longer than the leaf.

- Fruits : cylindric pod, 14-16 mm, 3-6-seeded, tawny when ripe.

- Biological type: annual.
