- Cotyledons spatulate.
- Leaves entire, elliptic or ovate, regularly dentate.
- Height: 5-20 cm.
- Stems erect, nearly glabrous at base, with crisped and glandular hairs above.
- Lower leaves opposite, later alternate. Leaves glabrous, the middle and upper sessile and the lower stalked. Margins irregularly and deeply dentate.
- Flowers bright-blue, about 3 mm in diameter, slightly exceeding the calyx, in lax terminal racemes. Pedicels slightly longer than the leaves.
- Fruits lengthened, somewhat flattened, 4 x 5 mm, sparsely ciliate on midrib.
- Rare in crops.
- Biological type: annual.
