- Stem prostrate or spreading, rather slender.

- Lower leaves in loose rosette. Leaves thin, not fleshy, short, linear, flat; stipules silvery, lanceolate -acuminate, longer than broad.

- Flowers pink, small (3 mm), in short, lax, leafy cymes ; pedicels shorter than the capsule or slightly exceeding it; petals shorter than the sepals or equal; sepals oblong ; 7-10 stamens.

- Fruits : capsule as long as the calyx ; not winged seeds.

- Biological type: annual or biennial.
