- Cotyledons very narrow and short (few mm long).
- Leaves entire, lengthened, rounded tip.

- Stems numerous, somewhat creeping at base then ascending, arisen from the neck of the root.
- Leaves lower in tufted and very small rosette ; leaf nearly filiform like an awl. Later leaves, awned, often ciliate at base.
- Flower greenish with a stalk usually straight or slightly curved, pubescent, glandular. 4 sepals ovate all blunt at the apex. 4 petals lanceolate very small or 0. 4 stamens and 4 styles.
- Fruit : capsule 4-valved with crosswise sepals above the ripe fruit, slightly drooped.
