- Cotyledons cordate tip.
- Leaves entire, deeply notched.
- Height: 20-70 cm.
- Stem erect.
- Basal leaves in rosette. Fleshy and waxy, bluish-green. Leaves lanceolate, with unmarked leaf -like petiole, at first lobed, then divided. Cauline leaves entire, or toothed, sessile, numerous, clasping the stem with 2 relatively lengthened lobes (narrow auricles ).
- Flowers yellow, small, relatively pale.
- Fruit with a lower part like a recurved cornet and with a upper part broader like 2 lateral humps. Fruits in long racemes, nearly appressed to the fruiting peduncle.
- Rare in crops but frequency increasing.
- Risk of confusion with Calepina irregularis (Asso.) Thell., Capsella bursa-pastoris (L.) Medicus, Rapistrum rugosum (L.) All. (at seedling stage).
