- Cotyledons reniform.
- Leaves entire, rounded, with distal teeth.
- Height: 10-40 cm.
- Leaves lower in rosette, alternate, orbicular, hairy, long-stalked. Leaves palmately divided with 7-9 lobes and a red gland at the base of the lobes. Lower cauline leaves opposite, upper alternate, yellow-green, rounded, 1-2 cm broad. Short and smooth or glandular hairs in the upper part of the plant. Stipules ovate -lanceolate.
- Flowers pink, small, petals with a rounded tip, shorter than the sepals. 2-flowered peduncle. Sepals spreading, mucronate.
- Fruit long and narrow, divided in 5 filiform mericarps with mostly erect hairs and a more or less glandular beak.
- Plant astringent, vulnerary and resolvent when fresh; used against sore throat, bleeding, nephritis and bruises.
- Frequency increasing in crops.
- Risk of confusion with Geranium molle L. and Geranium pusillum L.
