- Cotyledons ovate-rhomboidal, rounded at the tip.
- Leaves ovate with rounded base, glabrous.
- Height: 25 to 80 cm.
- Stems erect, shortly glandular-pubescent, with 2-4 longitudinal lines.
- Leaves dentate, the lower ones opposite, gradually tapered into long petiole (4-16 mm), the upper ones alternate with shorter petiole.
- Flowers first white then pink, with 4 bifid petals, in loose racemes; stigma clavate.
- Fruit: linear capsule up to 5 cm long, much longer than peduncle; seeds with hairy appendage.
- Rare in cultivated fields.
