- Leaves orbicular-oblong, base cuneate.
- Height: 30 to 70 cm. Plant containing latex.
- Stems erect, usually branched only in the upper part, glabrous or pubescent.
- Leaves: glabrous or pubescent, the lower ones alternate, broadly elliptic to spatulate, gradually tapered into petiole, the upper ones (floral leaves) verticillate, sessile, base rounded or amplexixcaul, all finely dentate.
- Flowers small, greenish, without calyx and corolla, in umbels.
- Fruit: glabrous, finely verrucose, capsule with three one-seeded valves.
- Rare in cultivated fields.
- Not to be confused with: Euphorbia exigua, Euphorbia helioscopia, Euphorbia peplus.
