- Cotyledons elliptic to ovate, rounded tip, more or less stalked.
- Leaves entire, elliptic to ovate, regularly toothed.
- Height: 10-40 cm. Plant glabrous with a tap-root.
- Stem erect, branched near the base, light-green, red-tinged.
- Leaves obovatee, stalked, entire-margined. Lower leaves very small, upper leaves sessile, 5-15 mm. Whitish latex.
- Flowers yellow-green, not marked, in terminal umbel with one or several flowering lateral axillary branches. Bracts ovate, mucronate. Glands crescent-shaped.
- Fruit : capsule 2.5 mm, smooth, with very narrow wings on the border. Seeds ovate, grey, 6-angled, 1-furrowed.
- Plant toxic used against asthma and as emetic.
- Risk of confusion with Euphorbia helioscopia L.
