- Cotyledons elliptical to ovate with rounded tip, sessile.
- Leaves divided, pinnate.
- Height: 15-50 cm.
- Stem often branched, sparsely hairy.
- Lowers leaves in rosette. Leaves alternated, with few hairs, divided in numerous filiform segments not linear, hispid (mucro purplish).
- Flowers white edged, ligulate (6-12 mm). Yellow central tubulous flower. Capitulum with numerous narrow paleas persistent till fructification.
- Fruits: achenes, smooth and not flattened.
- Plant with flowers used for feverishness (contains an alkaloid).
Plant vermifuge and resolutive, used in gargle.
