- Stem angled.

- Leaflets 1-3 pairs, ovate, oblong or lanceolate, with a terminal branched tendril, leaves alternate. Stipules big-toothed.

- Flowers crimson with white wings, solitary or 2-3 on flowering peduncle nearly as long as the leaf. Calyx with subequal teeth.

- Fruit reddish when ripe, pod covered with ginger hairs, 25-35 mm x 7-9 mm.

- Biological type: annual.
