- Stem erect, often branched, lower part with short and crisped hairs.

- Leaves opposite sparsely hairy. Lower leaves stalked, ovate with deep notches, nearly 5-lobed ; middle leaves palmately divided, 3-7 lobes, sessile.

- Flowers dark sky-blue, in loose and leafy racemes ; pedicels at less as long as the calyx and the leaves.

- Fruits flat slightly swollen, sharply keeled, 6-7 mm broad and long, glandular hairy, often red-tinged.

- Rare in crops.

- Biological type: annual.
