- Cotyledons very narrow, lengthened ( > 10 times longer than wide).
- Leaves pinnately divided.
- Height: 15-40 cm. Plant hairy, scabrous.
- Stem decumbent, diffuse.
- Leaves bipinnatisect, with segments pinnatifid, linear entire or cut lobes.
- Flowers white or pink, small, regular, in umbel. Involucre absent; involucel with linear bracts, longer than the pedicels. Styles very short, erect, glabrous. Umbels sessile or subsessile, leaf -opposed.
- Fruit : achenes short, ovoid, inner tubercled, outer with straight thorn (rough awl ). Persistent carpophore on inflorescence after drooping of the fruit.
