- Cotyledons lengthened, spoon-like.
- Leaves ternate.
- Height: 15-40 cm.
- Stem erect or ascending, simple or branched, with underground stolons and jointed hairs.
- Leaves 4 cm in diameter, with 3 cordate leaflets, rarely hairy, stipules 0.
- Flowers yellow, 1-6 in cyme. Sepals acute, 3-4 mm. Petals 5-10 mm.
- Fruit : capsule 8-12 mm, cylindric, lengthened, 5-angled. Glabrous when ripe.
- Plant native of North America and Asia. Rare in crops.
- Risk of confusion with Oxalis corniculata L. and at seedling stage with all species of Trifolium and the other species of Oxalis .
