- Cotyledons lengthened spoon-shaped.
- Leaves entire, elliptic to ovate, entire-margined.
- Height: 3-25 cm. Plant prostrate.
- Stem hollow, filiform, nearly 2-edged.
- Leaves sessile, ovate to elliptic, entire-margined, 3-15 mm, with black oily glands on border like, the sepals.
- Flowers light-yellow, in few-branched cyme, petals 5-7 mm, obtuse sepals short acute and dentate at the apex.
- Fruit : capsule ovate; seeds dark-brown, globose, 0.5-0.6 mm, wrinkled and warty.
- Plant discutient, stimulant, vermifuge, a very good quick vulnerary. There is a dyeing component yellow in water and red in oil. The perennial plant propagates with underground buds from rhizomes or sometimes from root.
