- Stem branched, with narrow blade, spiny, naked at top.
- Leaves sinuate or pinnatifid with long spike. Whitish colouration of certain secondary veins.
- Flowers rose( 15-22 mm) in capitulum. Capitulum with average height( 11 to 20 mm), elongated, solitary or 2-3 in a cluster at, extremity of branches clustered.
- Fruits : greyish achenes with silk (2 types of achenes).
