- Cotyledons elliptical to spatulate, stalked leaves entire oval to narrowly rhombic irregular dentate.
- Height: 10 to 50 cm.
- Stem: erect or ascendent, often branched at base.
- Leaves: Lower leaves opposite, following ones alternate. Green above, pale glaucous (mealy) beneath. Middle ones 2 times longer than wide, dentate, mostly obtuse. Upper leaves less than 6 times longer than wide, in general not tapered, little dentate sometimes almost entire sepals not covering, black and "shiny" seeds can be seen at the tip of the ripe fruit.
