- Perfoliation coiled, sheath cylindrical.
- Leaves glabrous or glabrescent. Lamina 1-2 mm wide.
- Ligule membranous oblong -pointed, auricles absent.
- Height : 7-50 cm.
- Stem smooth and geniculate at base.
- Leaves green without paleas and with membranous ligule, lamina flat, sheath free with margin.
- Inflorescence : panicle slack, up to 13cm with clustered spikelets (uniflores) 2-2.5mm. Glumes lanceolate, the lower approx. 1mm larger than the upper. Paleas unequal, the superior less than half the length of inferior. Awn about 3mm, inserted above the superior glume.
