Seedling:

- Shoot rolled, cylindrical leaf sheath.

- Leaf blade 20-50 times longer than wide, glabrous.

- Ligule membranous dentate outflanking the leaf sheath, auricles absent


Adult plant snapshot Adult plant:

- Height: 15-20 cm. Cespitose.

- Stem fibrous.

- Leaves filiform to rolled. The leaves are rolled at first and later form the shape of a gutter. Green colour.

- Inflorescence effuse(8 cm long). Branches clustered with spikelet and sharpened glumes enclose 2 hermaphrodite flowers. Inflorescence in small number(little or no tillering), lower stem of 20 cm, pedicels of spikelet divaricate at maturity.

- Plant psammophil.

- Biological type: annual.
