- Cotyledons lengthened, spoon-shaped.
- Leaves entire, elliptic or ovate, entire-margined.
- Height: 10-40 cm.
- Stem erect, slender, branched, grooved and pubescent.
- Lower leaves in rosette on 4 rows, light-green, opposite, obovate, lanceolate and strongly veined. Upper leaves sessile, narrow and somewhat dentate.
- Flowers blue, small in terminal dense and globose cymes on slender peduncles.
- Fruits : 2.5 mm long, slightly compressed, rounded, smooth and glabrous, fertile loculus corky on the back.
- Plant sometimes eaten as green salad. Leaves refreshing and antiscorbutic.
