- Stem pubescent, lengthened, somewhat thick.

- Leaves dentate, cut or pinnatifid.

- Flowers pale-lilac or blueish, in dense heads, further globose, on not thickened peduncles and falling when the fruit is ripe.

- Fruits ovate (2 x 2.5 mm), with dense tufted hairs, fertile cells very convex crowned by the calyx with 6 hooked apex teeth. Fruits in dense, globose, terminal clusters and falling all together.

- Rare in crops.

- Biological type: annual.

Mistake with:at seedling stage with all the other species of Valerianella .
