- Leaves entire, elliptic or ovate, entire-margined.

- Height: 10-40 cm.

- Stem 6-angled, furrowed, first inter-nodes longer than subsequent ones.

- Upper Leaves entire or slightly dentate.

- Flowers blue, dense in subglobose heads.

- Fruit : 2.5 mm, glabrous, oblong, nearly prismatic with a deep furrow on the front side; calyx without marked rim; fertile loculus not corky.

- Biological type: annual.

Mistake with: at seedling stage with all the other species of Valerianella .
