- Flowers crimson always solitary, less than 15 mm long, on a short peduncle. Calyx with very unequal teeth and short-haired.

- Fruit : pod with appressed hairs, tawny when ripe, 30-40 x 8-12 mm.

- Rare in crops.

- Biological type: annual.
