- Cotyledons ovate-oblong to spatulate, base cuneate.
- Leaves oblong-elliptic, entire, glabrous.

- Stems erect, glabrous, often branched in the lower part.
- Leaves glabrous, the lower ones opposite, narrowly ovate-oblong, short stalked, crenate, the upper ones (floral leaves) alternate, linear-lanceolate, sessile, entire.
- Flowers in terminal racemes, each flower subtended by a leaf-like bract. Corolla 2-3 mm, white to light blue, not much exceeding calyx. calyx glabrous.
- Fruit: many seeded, ovate, glabrous, capsule.
- Rare in cultivated fields.
