- Leaves glaucous, narrow, very lengthened, channelled, usually 3 leaves for 1 plant.

- Flower yellow, 3 to 5 cm, rounded base, with perianth segments ovate -lanceolate : petals shorter and broader than the sepals yellow inside and green outside; 6 stamens the 3 sepal -opposite longer than the three others.

- Fruit : 3 cm x 1.5 cm, rounded tip and base.

- Rare in crops. Plant protected in France (decree 20/01/82).

- Biological type: perennial with bulbs.
