- Cotyledons lengthened, spoon-shaped.

- First leaf simple, later 3-foliolate.


Adult plant snapshot Adult plant:

- Height: 10-20 cm. Plant smooth-hairy with a lengthened root.

- Stem erect, slightly branched.

- Leaflets 8 to 20 mm, nearly entire. Stipules with free part short, lanceolate -acuminate.

- Flowers whitish in globose, terminal, solitary heads, sessile at the axil of 3 broadened bracts. Corolla no more long than the calyx ; calyx hairy, ciliate-toothed.

- Fruit : pod.

- Rare in crops.

- Biological type: annual.

- Risk of confusion at seedling stage with all the other species of Trifolium and the species of Oxalis .
