- Cotyledons lengthened, spoon-shaped.
- First leaf simple, later 3-foliolate.
- Height: 10-40 cm.
- Stem principal stiffly erect.
- Leaves with 3 leaflets very narrow-linear or linear-lanceolate acute apex (20 to 80 x 2 to 4 mm); stipules narrow with a free part awl -like.
- Flowers pink, small in heads oblong -conical or cylindric (2 to 8 cm), solitary and terminal. Calyx -teeth long, narrow, ciliate, stellate when mature. Corolla no longer than the calyx.
- Fruit : pod.
- Risk of confusion at seedling stage with all the other species of Trifolium and the species of Oxalis , but leaves are narrower.
