- Cotyledons lengthened, spoon-shaped.
- Leaves entire, rounded, with distal teeth.
- Height: 30-80 cm. Plant rough, with deflexed hairs, ashen-green.
- Stem with stiff deflexed hairs, ridged, angular.
- Leaves lower in 5-7 segments ovate or ovate-elongate more or less divided. Upper leaves pinnatisect with a terminal segment longer than broad, coarsely and unequally toothed on side.
- Flowers white with unequal petals in umbel, a single petal larger than the 4 others. Umbel with 5-10 unequal stiffly hairy rays. Involucre and involucel with narrow and spreading linear bracts.
- Fruit : achene on a very short pedicel, globose and hairy. Margin swollen hairy and not crenulate -embossed. Carpophore persistent on the inflorescence after fruit fall.
