- Cotyledons very narrow, lengthened ( >10 times longer than wide).
- Leaves pinnately divided.
- Height: 20-50 cm.
- Stem erect, branched with spreading branches, deflexed-hispid.
- Leaves lower in rosette, clear-green to greyish-green, bipinnatisect, with lanceolate -ovate segments, cut, dentate, the terminal of the upper leaves more lengthened.
- Flowers white or pink in umbels, outer raying equalling the ovary more long. Umbels terminal long and stalked, flat, 3-8 scabrous rays. Involucre absent or with 1-2 short bracts. Involucel with linear bracts. Style spreading-erect, hairy at base.
- Fruits : achenes ovoid with straight spines, spreading; thickened at tip, nearly equalling its diameter. Persistent carpophore after fruit fall.
