- Stem prostrate, strongly branched, only flower stem upright; lower segments of the stem can develop roots on the nodes.

- Foliage leaves narrow-linear, slightly ciliate, short cusp; especially perennial forms have a central leaf rosette.

- Flowers white, with 4 petals ; petals tiny, shorter than calyx ; sepals broad ovate, blunt.

- Seed finely grained like dust, yellowish-brown, triangular-ovate, with grooved back.

- Biological type: annual to perennial.
