- Cotyledons lengthened, spoon-like.
- Leaves entire, lanceolate, more or less dentate.
- Height: 20-70 cm. Plant more or less hairy, very variable.
- Stem often prostrate at base, then ascending, ribbed, with whitish and prominent tubercles.
- Leaves lower obovate, oblong, entire or 3-lobed. Leaves rough with somewhat curly or undulate margins. Upper leaves 1-3-pinnatifid.
- Flowers yellow or greenish, in raceme, irregular, deeply divided, small, 6 sepals, 6 petals 3-fid the middle lobe narrower than the 2 lateral. Stamens : 20, filament not spatulate at the tip.
- Fruit : capsule roundish at base, erect, angular, truncate tip.
