- Leaves hairy, palmate with 5 stalked leaflets. Stipules : 2 entire, 2-toothed, lanceolate. Leaflets obovate, crenate -dentate, hairy.
- Flowers yellow, (15-30 mm), axillary, isolated. Petals 5, notched, exceeding the calyx.
- Plant noxious for sheep when they eat it too much. Leaves, stems and roots astringent and vulnerary.
