- Leaves opposite, 2 cm broad, petioled, ovate or oblong, cuneate or rounded at base, obscurely veined, the upper pair surrounding the spike.
- Flowers blue-purple, rather small. Calyx slightly bristly, upper lip 3-toothed, obscure teeth : the middle broad, subtruncate, abruptly apiculate, and the lower is cut till the half into 2 lobes. Corolla 20-25 mm.
