- Cotyledons rounded at apex, tapering into very short stalk.
- Leaves in a lax rosette, broadly lanceolate to ovate, with silvery hairs and parallel venation.
- Height: 5 to 40 cm. Finely pubescent.
- Leaves in basal rosette, elliptical, entire or remotely dentate, 5 to 9 veined, obtuse, very short petiole, usually densely silvery hairy.
- Inflorescence: Flower stem not furrowed, longer than leaves, 20 to 40 cm. Spike long (2 to 6 cm) and cylindrical. Bracts 2 to 3 mm, ovate, acute, with membranous margins. Flowers hermaphrodite, scented. Corolla 4 mm with white points. Stamens exserted ( 8 to 13 mm), Filaments purple, anthers lilac or white.
Fruits: 4 seeded. Seeds brown to very dark brown, faintly rugose, more or less irregularly ovate.
