- Leaves basal in rosette. Leaves linear-acute, glabrous with a sheath as long as broad.

- Flowers light-pink, not striped, very small, enclosed in an involucre. Calyx with 5 green teeth with 5 scarious seams alternating with the 5 blunt membranous teeth. Bracts : membranous and coriaceous scale -like, as long as the calyx. Petals slightly longer than the sepals.

- Fruit : capsule elliptic.
