- Cotyledons elliptic, clavated tip, more or less stalked.
- Leaves entire, ovate -deltoid, irregularly toothed
- Height: 30-60 cm.
- Stem: erect, very branched, with very tapered branches, nearly leafless.
- Leaves lower lobed -dentate. Blade light-green beneath, many-veined. Later leaves pinnately divided, with 13-19 ovate, cut-toothed leaflets.
- Flowers white or pink in 2-5 rayed and very irregular umbels, subsessile or long pedicellate (about 15 mm long). Linear involucral bracts.
- Fruit : achene ovoid, without scent. Carypophore persistent on the inflorescence after falling of the fruit.
- Rare in crops, but frequency increasing.
- Biological type: annual.
