- Plant propagates overall vegetatively (bulbs,bulbils...); establishment from seedling is rare.

- Stem underground arisen from a deep bulb with isolated bulbils as big as a pea.
- Leaves all in dense rosette, long-stalked, with 3 cordate leaflets.
- Flowers light-yellow, large, on long peduncles, 3-8 in cyme. Petals 20-25 mm.
- Fruits : capsule cylindric, oblong, but the fruit is rarely produced.
- Plant with leaf slightly acid, refreshing, antiseptic, antiscorbutic, astringent and diuretic, because the presence of oxalic acid inside. Rare in crops.
