Seedling:

- Cotyledons lengthened, spoon-like.

- Leaves entire, elliptic or ovate, entire-margined.


Adult plant snapshot Adult plant:

- Height: 10-30 cm. Plant erect, branched, sparsely leafy.

- Stem slender, erect, few-branched.

- Leaves lower in rosette, leaves elliptic, narrow or spatulate, hairy. Cauline leaves sessile.

- Flowers yellowish at first, then blue light-purple, finally blue dark-purple in scorpioid cymes (versicoloured flowers). Corolla circa 4 mm long.

- Fruits dry, indehiscent, with very hard walls, 1-seeded, flattened, ovate, about 1 mm long, not tapered margin, light-brown shining. Fruit pedicels very short and twisted laterally.

- Rare in crops.

- Risk of confusion with the other species of Myosotis .

- Biological type: annual.
