Seedling:
- Cotyledons very narrow and short (few mm long).
- Leaf entire, linear, acute at the tip.
- Height: 5-20 cm. Plant very variable, with a lengthened tap-root.
- Leaves lower in rosette, very small and very stout, grass-green. Leaves very narrow (less than 1 mm broad), with 5 strong veins at the base, upper 3-veined of which 2 slightly marked on the borders on fresh leaves.
- Flowers white less than 5 mm long in dichasium. Petals shorter than the sepals, narrowed at the base. Sepals green, ovate, very acute with 3 principal veins.
- Fruit : capsule linear, oblong. Seeds wrinkled.
