- Height: 10-60 cm.

- Stem 4-angled, dull-green or slightly crimson, prostrate to ascending with aerial and underground shoots sparsely covered with spreading hairs.

- Leaves stalked, elliptic or ovate with a toothed border. Bracts as long as the leaves.

- Flowers pink-purplish in many-flowered pseudo-whorls. Calyx campanulate, 10-veined, 1-3 mm long,, with teeth 0.5-1 mm long. Corolla more or less regularly 4-lobed, 4-6 mm long, usually with a hairy tube without marked lips. Mericarps ovoid, smooth, 0.5 mm long.

- Fruit : achenes ovoid and smooth.

- Plant with a scent of mint when crushed.

- Biological type: perennial with rhizomes.
