- Cotyledons elliptic to ovate, rounded tip, more or less stalked.
- First leaf rounded, obtuse at the base, glandular ; the later 3-foliolate.
- Height: 20-50 cm.
- Stem prostrate or ascending.
- Leaves with leaflets denticulate circa their upper 2/3, broad, rounded or slightly cuneate at the tip. Blade of leaflets very glandular, sticky. Stipules toothed.
- Flowers yellow solitary or 2-3 on a flowering branch lengthening into a slender flowerless segment. Standard longer than the keel and this one slightly longer than the wings.
- Fruit : pod indehiscent, cup-shaped, hairy, glandular coiled in a helix of 5-6 turns and circular in outline, 13-15 mm in diameter.
- Plant sometimes cultivated for the fruits.
- Rare in crops.
