Plant essentially vegetatively propagated by adventitious budding of small leaves (blades).

-Leaves (also called fronds) very small, floating, very small, ovate or rounded (2-5 mm in length),fused together 2, 3 or 4, swollen underneath (like an inflatable), spongy and reticulate with 40-50 meshes of 0.2-0.7 mm.
-Flowers : two male stamens and one female pistil.
-Fruits : achenes.
-An aquatic floating plant, with long raceme.
