- Cotyledons elliptic to ovate, rounded tip, more or less stalked.
- Leaves entire, lanceolate, more or less dentate.
- Height: 5-30 cm. Plant glaucous, pubescent, glandular hairy with a slender principal root.
- Stem very short, with short internodes at the base. Early development of cotyledon buds.
- Leaves lower in pseudo-rosette ; leaves ovate, glaucous, few pairs of lanceolate leaves on the stem.
- Flowers white to pink (often toothed ) in dense umbel -like racemes. Flowers terminal with unequal pedicels, deflexed after flowering.
- Fruit : capsule opening by 6 revolute teeth, 6-celled with seeds red-brown, 0.5 mm, rounded: keeled on one side and furrowed on the other side.
