- Leaves : petiolate and hispid; the upper alternate ; blade 8-15x5-8 cm, dark green above, ovate -lanceolate, acuminate, denticulate, petiole 2-4 cm.
- Inflorescence : capitulum 4-5 cm in diameter, usually not all of the flowers belonging to the same capitulum can bear fruit ; 12-15 florets 20-25x6-9 mm, ligulate with bright yellow ligule.
- Fruit : achenes 5-6 mm, glabrous or hairy.
