- Leaves entire, linear with an acute apex.

- Height: 10-20 cm.

- Stem: ascending, irregularly forked at the tip, 2-3 branched, woolly.

- Leaves: lower in rosette, leaves very firm, lanate and whitish. The upper lanceolate 12-20 x 1-3 mm, sessile, lanate, white, downy.

- Flowers : greenish in spherical heads, 2-7 in lateral clusters.

- Fruits : seeds 0.6 mm, rough, outer without pappus.

- Rare in crops.

- Risk of confusion with species of Gnaphalium and Filago .

- Biological type: annual.
