- Cotyledons awl -shaped, sessile, about 5 mm long.
- Foliage leaves linear, the whole length almost regularly broad, acuminate, flat, whitish-tomentose ; dense leaf rosette ; new leaf rosettes arise from the axils of the first leaves, therefore plants dense bushy.
- Height: 10-40 cm.
- Stem upright, heavily grey-white tomentose, branched from about the middle, axillary branches usually shorter than main stem.
- Foliage leaves lanceolate, entire, acuminate, 10-20 x 1-4 mm, grey tomentose
- Flowers in broad oval heads (4-5 mm long), 2-7 in loose glomerules ; all the involucral leaves grey tomentose, not carinate; tubular florets inconspicuous yellow.
- Seeds 0,6 mm, with pappus.
