- Cotyledons cordate at the apex.
- Leaves entire, lanceolate, more or less toothed.
- Height: 10-60 cm. Plant light-green with a principal root lengthened.
- Stem erect, branched, with 2-or 3-branched hairs.
- Leaves oblong -lanceolate, lower very often with an entire margin or irregularly notched-toothed, the upper markedly toothed and hairy.
- Flowers yellow, small, in highly flowered cymes. Sepals greenish, stigma entire or slightly notched. Pedicel 2-3 times longer than the calyx.
- Fruit : siliqua ascending all around the stem. Ripe fruit 3 cm long. Seeds brown to reddish not winged.
- Plant used against diarrhoea and dropsy. Rare in crops.
